Program Description: Private pay patients can be seen under all three categories of [Texas HCSSA] Home Health licensure and even under Hospice. This program presents the factors that determine the licensure category most appropriate for your new program and the pros and cons of each licensure category for private pay. Program mission and licensure requirements are discussed and must be considered. Administrators - you will gain insights to assist you with program planning and survey readiness.

Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to:

  • Describe the relationship between product lines and categories of licensure
  • List two differences between requirements for PAS agencies and LHH agencies
  • Describe the relationship between regulatory requirements, overhead expenses, and product pricing

About the Presenter: Kay Hollers is well known to TAHC&H audiences as she has been active in the teaching, practice, administration and consultation regarding home health and hospice for nearly 40 years. Kay holds both a Bachelors in Nursing and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas and a Specialty Certification in health care evaluation from Wayne State University in Detroit. She owned a private pay agency in Austin and is currently the owner of KHollers Consulting in Austin and the Vice President of Home Health Operations for APC Home Health in Harlingen.
