Program Description: The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is implementing Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) statewide on January 1, 2015 for Medicaid Fee-for-Service, STAR+PLUS and STAR Health managed care programs, and the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Providers need to know:

  • What services are included in EVV?
  • Who will provide training for EVV and where?
  • How many vendors are providing EVV services for the HHSC EVV program?
  • How do providers select an EVV vendor?
  • Are there different EVV requirements for DADS providers and FFS or managed care providers?
  • Will providers have to learn new EVV reason codes?
  • What is the difference in the EVV implementation date on January 1, 2015, and the full compliance date on March 1, 2015?

About the Presenters:
Deborah N. Keyser
is a Project Manager within the Medicaid CHIP division of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), with seven years' experience in Medicaid working on a variety of HHSC initiatives – most recently including statewide implementation of Electronic Visit Verification, Medicaid provider enrollment, and analysis and implementation of federal reforms.

Alesia Brown is a Contract Specialist in the Contract Accountability and Oversight Unit in the Community Services Contracts Section of the Access and Intake Division of the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Alesia works closely with DADS contract managers, data reports, special projects and electronic visit verification (EVV). Prior to this Alesia has been a DADS case manager and lead policy specialist for numerous DADS and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) programs. Alesia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Personnel Management/Labor Relations from Huston-Tillotson University.
