Program Description: Hospice billing is a crucial part of hospice reimbursement particularly in view of the important changes to the Medicare Hospice billing regulations effective April 1, 2014. In this program Melinda reviews:

  • the updated regulations for billing hospice services including claims requirements
  • reporting hospice staff visits
  • face-to-face encounters
  • and providing hospice care to a patient receiving home health

Melinda also covers the new aggregate cap requirements and outline calculation methods. Nurse managers supervising claims data collection may benefit from this program. Presentation Date: 11.19.2014

Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to:

  • List the additional claims data required by CR 8358.
  • Identify the six data elements newly required on hospice claims.
  • Describe the process of submitting the newly required Aggregate CAP calculations.

Melinda Gaboury, COS-C,
