A new version of the OASIS data set and updated guidance is scheduled for implementation on January 1, 2017. The new OASIS-C2 will include several changes to
bring home health assessment data collection into alignment with other post-acute provider settings:
This online, on-demand rich-media training program is presented by nationally-known OASIS and Home Care Coding expert Lisa Selman-Holman. It was specifically developed to deliver training on the OASIS-C2 changes to clincians already trained and competent in OASIS-C1 who do not need (like new clinical staff) a comprehesive OASIS-C2 training program.
About the Presenter: Lisa Selman-Holman, JD, BSN, RN, HCS-D, HCS-H, COS-C, HCS-O is a
veteran of home care with over 30 years spent in home health and hospice, both as an RN and as an attorney practicing exclusively
in home care. She is the owner of Selman-Holman & Associates, LLC, a full-service home care and hospice consulting firm,
CoDR (Coding Done Right), an outsourcing company for home care and hospice coding, and CodePro University, providing ICD-10-CM
code training for home health and hospice coders and OASIS training for home health coders and clinicians. She participates on the
Board of Medical Specialty Coding and Compliance specialty board on OASIS and is the chair of the specialty board [BMSC] on home
care coding. She has provided education to home health and hospice professionals since 1994.
Lisa is certified as a Homecare Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCS-D), Homecare Coding
Specialist-Hospice (HCS-H), Homecare Coding Specialist-OASIS (HCS-O) and is certified in OASIS competency, COS-C. She is a
frequent contributor to other home care periodicals. She is the Chair of the Board of Medical Specialty Coding (BMSC) for
the HCS-D, HCS-O and HCS-H exams and is a BMSC approved instructor for all of the exams. She has participated on the OASIS Certificate and
Competency Board on the Exam Review Task Force. She is an active member of the Texas Association for Home Care and frequently serves on
regulatory task forces. She has also participated with the Texas Medical Foundation's Quality Improvement Organization State Home Health Coalition for OBQI.
Purpose: The goal of this continuing education training program is to provide functional knowledge of the changes to the Home Health
Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) Version -C2, allowing clinicians
with current OASIS-C1 competency to accurately complete OASIS-C2 assessment and data collection.
To successfully complete this activity,
the participant must participate in all components of the training format
(online training presentations & interactive quizzes), achieve an 80% or higher
on the post-test, and complete the course evaluation.
