Infection Control

[1579] Infection Control

Subscription Type:Individual

Faculty: Long

All home care agencies are required to be in compliance with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements as they apply to their employees. This program will identify the state and federal regulations related to OSHA and infection control, and the compliance issues for all home care agencies related to blood borne pathogens, Hepatitis B, tuberculosis testing and personal protective equipment (PPE). Failure to comply with these requirements can result in significant legal liability for agencies, as well as hefty fines.

Presented by Lisa Long, RN, BSN, HCS-D, Owner, Patience Health Care. Lisa Long has been in Home Heath care for the past 18 years. She has been working for agencies as a RN, DON, ADM, VP of Operations, and starting agencies across Texas for both state wide and national agencies. After starting agencies for several companies, she felt it was time to do it on her own and focus on patient care. Starting out as a small agency allowed her to solidify the fundamentals of Home Health and to effectively provide quality care and operate in a fiscally responsible manner. Lisa established Patience Home Health Care in 2005. Her focus is to build a patient oriented company that insists on quality patient care first. The motto she established for Patients Home Health Care is “Where our Patient’s come first” and that is how the company is operated daily. She currently works on sustaining patient care standards, business development and understanding regulatory changes.
