Program Description: This program provides a detailed look at emergency preparedness including the phase required for planning and implementation plus a brief review of swine flu guidance and infection control regulations.

Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to:

  • Identify the key components of an agency’s emergency preparedness plan
  • List the phases of emergency preparedness planning and implementation
  • Recognize three questions a surveyor may ask on a survey concerning emergency preparedness

About the Presenters: Yolanda Chavez, BSN, RN, is a HCSSA Policy Specialist for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services [DADS]. In this role Yolanda reviews, provides analysis of and response to state and federal regulatory inquiries.

Veronica Roberts, BSN, RN, is a Joint Training Specialist in the Home and Community Support Services program with Education Services for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services [DADS].
