Program Description: RN delegation rules can be complex for Private Duty and Medicare / Medicaid providers alike.

Nurses need to stay up to date on the regulatory changes that affect nursing practice. In this program Lisa simplifies the rules and provides examples that will assist your agency in providing cost-effective safe care and ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act. Presentation Date: 8.20.2014

Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to:

  • Distinguish between nursing tasks may be delegated and tasks that are prohibited from delegation.
  • Identify health maintenance activities that no longer require delegation.
  • Describe two factors nurses must consider when delegating nursing tasks.

About the Presenter:
Lisa Selman-Holman, JD, BSN, RN, HCS-D, COS-C, HCS-O
is a veteran of home care with over 26 years spent in home health and hospice, both as an RN and as an attorney practicing exclusively in home care. She is the owner of Selman-Holman & Associates, LLC, a full-service home care and hospice consulting firm and CoDR (Coding Done Right), an outsourcing company for home care and hospice coding. She participates on the Board of Medical Specialty Coding and Compliance specialty board on OASIS and is the chair of the specialty board on home care coding. She has provided education to home health and hospice professionals since 1994.
